Memorial Day weekend in Cape May is full of fun activities and the Bacchus Inn is a short walk from it all.

Memorial day weekend is a welcomed beginning to the summer season for many people and places and Cape May is no exception. It is a time for outdoor activities, food, and quality time with significant others. Memorial Day weekend in Cape May offers the annual yard sales, craft shows, fishing, antiques as well as the beach and shops that always welcome The Bacchus Inn guests.

The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts(MAC) will be holding a craft show on the Emlen Physick Estate grounds over the weekend. The Bacchus Inn is 3 blocks up Columbia from Madison make a left to Washington street ( 2 blocks)and then a right onto Washington and the Emlen Pysick Estate is 300 yards up the road.

The yard sales will take place all weekend throughout the towns from Cape May Point to east Cape May in Cape May city. Cape May Point is one of the farthest points from Cape May city but it is a pleasant 3.2mile bike ride from The Bacchus Inn.

The fishing fleet at the south jersey marina is poised for a great season. The dolphin watch is ready to tour.

The Washington Street mall merchants have filled their stores preparing for the summer surge. The mall is 2 blocks down Columbia make a right and 2 blocks on Ocean to Washington street.

Cape May restaurants will be open to welcome hungry visitors. Cape May has always prided itself on the variety of culinary options. We have wonderful casual places like Gecko’s or Tommy’s hotdogs and fine restaurants like the Washington Inn or the Merion Inn. Most of the restaurants of Cape May are within 10 blocks of the Bacchus Inn.

Memorial day is a great time in Cape May. The breezes are warm, people are laughing and the Bacchus Inn is in the center of it all hoping to share the experience with you.

Spring at the Bacchus Inn

The flowers are in bloom and the birds are nesting. Spring has come to Cape May and the Bacchus Inn. There are several great events to welcome you to Cape May.

This year has been extra special. The weather for the month of April was near record high temperatures. This was a welcome change to the harsh winter we endured. May has begun with more of the same pleasant weather. This is ideal for exploring Cape May’s Washington Street Mall or Cape May Pointe State Park or any where in between.

This weekend offer plenty to do outdoors. The annual South Jersey Marina Stripper tournament will take place on May 7,8. If you are interested dial the South Jersey marina at 609.884.2400.

This weekend is also for the birds. The annual World Series of Birding take place May 8. More information is available at the Cape May Bird Observatory by dialing 609.884.2736.

The Cape May Artist Gallery will show locate artist on Sunday May 9 from 1 to 2:30 at the West End Garage on West Perry in West Cape May.

Cape May MAC, or Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts , the Physick Estate is hosting spring tours. The trolley tours are running as well as walking tours. One of these walking tours features the beautiful gardens of Cape May.
