A Bacchus Inn Bed and Breakfast guest get married in Cape May

August 20th, 2010 by johnmatusiak

As an innkeeper we get to share some wonderful life experiences with our guests. This week it was the marriage of Sterling and Wendy.  The couple had a simple civil ceremony performed by the mayor at city hall then an inmate meal at the Washington Inn restaurant.

The couple wanted a simple affair and stole away a couple nights in Cape May to exchange vows. The plan was casually mentioned during breakfast and the other guests at the table were happy for the couple and offered their congratulations. That evening after vows and dinner the other B&B guests celebrated on the porch of  The Bacchus Inn Bed and Breakfast with the newly wed couple with wine and cake.  The wine was flowing as smoothly as the conversation and soon all the guests who started the day as strangers ended the day as new friends.

This is just one of many special experiences we get to share with guests at the inn.  We see people here for engagements, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, and reunions – some of the life’s most special moments and we get it all here at The Bacchus Inn Bed and Breakfast. It really is the best part of being an innkeeper.

MAC victorian Stained Glass Tour is Illuminating

August 11th, 2010 by johnmatusiak

MAC(Mid Atlantic Center for Arts) is an asset to the Cape May community because of the wonderful historical tours they share with tourist and residents. The stained glass tour offers a beautiful focus on one aspect of victorian architecture, the windows.

These windows are more than just portals of light and ventilation.  They are artworks with many designs demonstrating meticulous craftsmanship. There are endless varieties of color.   Some designs are landscapes, others are religious scenes, while others are geometric designs.  These beautiful windows and transoms speckle the streets and provide spectacular views for an evening walk.

Mac provides a tour which gives a more historical insight into this victorian architectural feature. The Bacchus Inn Bed & Breakfast is one of the featured properties of the MAC tour.  Find out more information of this tour and many others from the This Week in Cape May publication provided in the foyer of the Bacchus Inn Bed & Breakfast or by visiting our Mac info page.
