Check-in time is 2PM until 8PM. If you expect to be later than 8PM, guest must notify us in writing so we can make arrangements for your late check in. All late check ins must be confirmed in writing by the innkeeper. Many guests arrive early and this is not a problem as long as we know when to expect you. If the room has not yet been prepared for you, we will gladly store your luggage at the inn.
Off street parking is provided for 7 specific rooms (see room descriptions for details). For all other rooms there is street parking available on both sides of the street. For your convenience, during check-in and check-out guests may use the driveways to unload and load. Once you are in Cape May, you won’t need your car much, if at all. We will operate a little differently this 2021 season. We are following safety guidelines from the county and state. We will have continental breakfast delivered to the room in covered crates. Afternoon refreshments delivered to the room in the same manner. Guests will have option of coming down to common areas. Guests will be asked to practice social distancing guidelines and wear masks in the common areas of the inn as it is mandatory in NJ. We are hopeful that the Covid infection numbers fall in 2021 as a result of herd immunity in union with the Covid vaccine. This will allow us to return to pre-Covid operations so we can serve our guest safely.
Covid Suspended –
Every morning coffee, muffins and fresh whole fruit are available in the dining room by 8am. Additionally, each house provides a Keuring coffee maker and hot and cold water dispenser in the hospitality area 24 hours a day. Some rooms have coffee makers as an amenity. The Bacchus Inn offers a seated breakfast at 8:30am or 9:45am. Each breakfast seating is limited to 16 people. Times will be slotted based on availability at check-in. Breakfast menus are provide on the room door the evening before. Breakfasts alternate every other day between a sweet main course and a savory main course. Each breakfast offers a fresh fruit 1st course followed by the main entree which includes a breakfast meat and main entree. We alternate between 6 different breakfasts a week. Some breakfast are only available in certain seasons. Cereal, including oatmeal, is listed on the menu and available daily as an alternative.
No daily room makeups, but fresh laundry may be delivered in basket to the guest room door. Room sanitation at checkout will have added Lysol sanitation then the room will be cleaned. Complimentary bikes and beach chairs will not be available. Everything is subject to change, but this is how we will operate until further notice. The Bacchus Inn appreciates that change is not always comfortable but we are attempting to provide a safe experience while following guidelines so vacation time in Cape May can resume.

Cape May Restaurants
Cape May restaurants are plentiful and very good! Reservations to most of the fine dining establishments are recommended. In the summer months, holidays, and special event weekends, reservations are a must! Do not hesitate to contact the innkeepers to help you make reservations. For our dining suggestions, click here.
A deposit is required at the time a reservation is made. The deposit applies to the last day of the reservation. Shortened stays will not generate a refund. There is no refund for early checkouts. In the event that a guest must cancel, shorten their stay, or make a change in their confirmed reservation, a written request must be submitted to the innkeeper. All cancellations and changes to an existing reservation must be confirmed in writing by the innkeeper. Once confirmed, the deposit will be refunded minus a $50.00 processing fee, if we can rebook the entire reservation. If the cancellation occurs less than 48 hours before check-in (2pm), then NO refund can be made. Cancellations made 21 days prior to scheduled arrival date (or earlier) are eligible for an automatic refund of deposit minus a $50.00 processing fee. We cannot be held responsible for illness, family emergencies, early departures, work conflicts or inclement weather. There is no refund for early checkouts.Guest must arrive by 8pm or make written request for late arrival. Any written request for late check-in is not valid without a written response by the innkeeper. Guest arriving after 8pm without proper arrangements subject their reservation to cancellation as a no show.
